Library Director-Windham Free Library (Public)

Part-time, 12 hours/week (8 hours on-desk, 4 hours off-desk).    

Salary Range $22-$25/hour

The Windham Free Library is seeking a customer-service focused, community-oriented, professional and technologically capable individual to lead the library.  Windham Free Library is a small public library of 600 square feet in an historic building located on the green in Windham Center.  

Job Responsibilities:  The Library Director is a Librarian responsible for the administration and supervision of the Library and the provision of library services to its patrons, including programming and collection development.  The Library Director reports to the Windham Free Library Association Board of Directors and under its direction, develops, administers and coordinates the work of the library and staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent administrative, supervisory, planning and organizational skills are required. 
  • Knowledge of library reference materials, both print and online is beneficial. 
  • A high level of computer expertise and experience with online circulation systems is preferred. Previous use of Bibliomation/Evergreen software will be beneficial.
  • College degree or certificate, preferred, but not required.

Windham Book Club

The Windham Book Club meets the 3rd MONDAY of each month from September through June of each year. Our meeting time is 2:30 pm and our location is the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Plains Road in Windham Center. We always welcome new members, so feel free to join us at any time–no matter what library you call “home”!
